Helpful Tips

Tear Fluid Amount

You may not see much tear fluid on your strip and that is OK. We don’t need any liquid present to collect the proteins we are looking for. The proteins stick to the sample strip regardless of how much tear fluid you are producing.

When to Ship Your Sample

Please ship back to the lab on the same day you collect your sample – this should be a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Saturday. This will ensure that your sample arrives in time. We have also found that taking your package to a FedEx store is more reliable than a drop box.

Keeping Your Sample Cool

Do NOT remove the silver liner inside the thermal mailer. This is there to keep your sample cool while it makes it way back to our lab.

Saturday Shipping

If you mail on a Saturday, you must take the sample into a FedEx Store. Most FedEx boxes do not get picked up on Saturdays.
